NYC pricing is a real problem for craft beer. Certain grocery stores are especially ridiculous in marking prices up to and above corner deli levels.
brewyork:
We’ve written lately about beer prices getting out of hand at bars in New York City. With the growing popularity of craft beer in the city, it’s no surprise that some businesspeople might try to take advantage of the boom by driving up...

And, according to Om, PaidContent founder Rafat Ali is making more off it than he did as a journalist.

New York Mets to use 'dynamic pricing' for seats... →
Now this is cool.
“We have a sense going in that an early or a late midweek game isn’t as desirable as a summer weekend game — peak vs. off-peak, so to speak — and the reality is as you get into the season things happen,” said Dave Howard, Mets executive vice president for business operations. “Sometimes marketplaces will tell you that you probably should...

– Facebook is getting rid of mobile-only Places and moving in the same direction as Twitter: users can attach their location to pretty much any update or action.

Find and share the places you love. Say hi to... →
Another foursquare feature that adds value for users, boosts network effects and doesn’t seem like it will easily translate to Facebook Places or other would-be envelopers.
Speaking of envelopers: unlike on Yelp, it seems that foursquare lists can be more easily generated from places users have checked in; (I’m guessing more people check in on foursquare than write Yelp reviews).

MBAs and Entrepreneurship/Startups
My Social Media and Entrepreneurship class this semester has hosted a bunch of great speakers, and almost every week the topic of MBAs in the entrepreneurship world has come up. Some of our guests have MBAs (Chris Dixon, Fred Wilson), some don’t (Perry Chen, Scott Heiferman), but regardless, each time the issue comes up there’s I’ve observed a fair amount of tension. Maybe...

Three Perspectives on Culture & Innovation
Over the past few weeks I’ve been lucky to see a few great guest speakers at school:
Jack Dorsey, Head of Product, Twitter; CEO, Square
Nathan Estruth, VP, P&G’s Futureworks

Consistent across each of the talks was a discussion of the ways these leaders contribute to fostering and managing innovation — which seems to...
