This is not fan-friendly. This is B.S. You pay money for a top-of-the-line franchise, and you get bottom-of-the-line customer service.

Martin Watson, a 39-year-old New Yorker who spent $800 for four tickets to last night’s Yanks/Sox game.

On Sunday I went to the Yanks/Angels game, which was ultimately postponed at around 2:45 p.m. The Mets called their game before noon.

Optimistically, we went up to the Bronx anyway, figuring that if they hadn’t called the game around the time the Mets did they meant to play.

By 1:45 p.m. the vendors were all saying that the game had already been postponed, though no announcement was forthcoming for another hour. Cynically, I suggested that the Yankees knew all along they weren’t going to play, and wanted to make money on concessions anyway. I am now convinced that was the case.

Afterall, Yankees fans aren’t going to stop going to the Stadium (which reminds me of a giant cement box, ugh) to see their team. The Yankees know that, and seem more than willing to abuse their fans accordingly.

I’ll stick to Citi Field, which has better food and beer to boot.

NB: I am a Red Sox fan, and yes I know the Sox have their own issues in this regard as far as ticket prices etc.
