Rachel and I worked together on this John Hughes article on how he shaped a generation.

As a child of the 90s I can say only: Yup.
Even though I love all the tech/social media we have now, it makes me vaguely sad — and nostalgic — to think that future generations likely won’t have a childhood that will enable them to relate to these films like I do.
I suppose that means I was lucky; I doubt that people who grew up in the Depression feel the same nostalgia for their younger years.
