Have You Met Ed Page?
I learn something new every time I come home to Hartford, CT and open up the local paper, the Tribune-owned Hartford Courant (“the oldest continuously published newspaper in America”).
This morning I discovered a small column on the Op-Ed page: “Talk to Ed on Facebook.” Ed is, of course, Ed Page, whose profile picture must be of Charles Darwin reading the encyclopedia. Every day Ed asks a question and prints a few reader responses. Today’s high-impact question: “Who is the best college basketball coach ever?”
Ed has around 3100 friends and gets about 25 responses per question. Not sure what kind of traffic it drives to The Courant, but it’s an interesting way of bringing the Ed Board to social media.
